I am thrilled to announce that our students now have access to the RAZ-Kids website and app to practice reading skills! This site allows students to read books and take comprehension quizzes at their own reading level. Additionally, it allows students to listen to the books read to them and then to record and listen to their reading. My former 1st grade students in Vermont LOVED this website/app and used it often both at home and at school I encourage you and your child to do the same. I watch students' progress and adjust reading levels from the teacher portal as needed. I can also listen to texts they've recorded and view their quiz results to monitor progress. It's pretty amazing! They will have access to their account until the end of the summer, when I will open the slots for incoming students.
Students can access the website from any computer connected to the internet, and it's available for mobile devices too (both Android and iOS)! The link is provided the Reading tab on this website or through the icon below:
Note: If the link doesn't bring you directly to the menu of student names shown below, enter teacher username: Sorensone. The same is true for the app when you are asked to log in.

As of tomorrow, students will have all had the opportunity to use RAZ-Kids at school both on the Chromebook and the iPad. I will take photos of the iPad app and share those soon. Please take advantage of this great resource at home! Contact me with any questions.
